Welcome to our semimonthly newsletter where I recommend must see art shows and what to wear to them. Art has always been a major outlet for me, and I am excited to share with you some of what inspires our designs.
Come on this aesthetic journey with me, and if you have a favorite exhibit you recently saw, let me know. I'd love to hear what catches your eye.

PIPILOTTI RIST
PRICKLING GOOSEBUMPS & A HUMMING HORIZON
Pipilotti Rist is an exciting artist with colorful multi-sensory works. I first discovered her back in 2016 at the New Museum where every space was transformed to interact with the art in an unconventional way. I remember one component had me laying down and looking to the ceiling where screens displayed cascading colorful images. Before I knew it I was walking through her notable Pixel Forest in a sea of illuminating lights.
While this work doesn’t convey the typical Rosin Studios dark minimalist aesthetic, I think the beauty of art is immersing yourself in the vast range of styles and appreciating its artist’s inherent point of view. Sometimes seeing what you don’t usually gravitate towards challenges your eye and enhances your own perspective.
This current show takes us on a journey to two different nearby galleries in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan. Here the exhibition is laid out to explore interior and exterior spaces, representing internal and external physical and psychological realms. And in typical Pipilotti fashion, you are transported to another world altogether. It is invigorating and melancholic, a dynamism you can only understand when you experience her work in person.
Since this exhibit is taking place during winter this outfit is all about layering. First we’ll start with our Petra Top, a slub jersey racerback tank top and add on top a cropped sweater. This works so well because the high neck of the tank with its wide binding will peak out above your sweater to give depth and texture to your outfit. The cropped sweater is a great proportion to balance the bottom of this look. Pairing our Palawan Pant, which is a wide leg high waisted pull on pant in sandwashed satin. This fabric is such a signature for us because of the way the sheen is not overtly shiny but helps breakup the void an all black outfit can have when not texturally paired properly.
And to finish off the look we love a chunky mid-calf boot, something like these Marsell really speak to us, with an oversized yet structured long wool coat for example like this Saint Laurent double breasted style. Grab our Paris bag, some sunnies + chunky jewelry and go check out the Pipilotti Rist exhibits.
