Thanks for stopping by and checking out the blog. It's Lizzie here by the way and this is totally new for me. I thought it might be cool to go behind the scenes with Rosin Studios.
For now I'll write what I think you all would want to read, but I encourage you to message us with questions, ideas, and comments for future posts. This will only get better if we do this together!
So how did RS start...
Well to begin let's go back. If you are new to the brand let me first start by introducing myself. My name is Lizzie and I am the Founder and Creative Director of Rosin Studios. With the help, support, and encouragement from my friends and family, I officially launched the label in 2021.
Design was always a passion, a dream, and ultimately a career path for me. Since about 12 years old I focused in on fashion. I remember studying the pages of Harper's Bazaar, Vogue, and WWD - idolizing fashion designers and the industry itself. I wanted to understand how everything worked so that when it came to my turn hopefully I knew what I was getting into.
Fast forward to 2020, I am at my childhood home toying with where to take my next steps. Always hesitant to make big moves, I realized I could start a fashion line with a small first collection. To paint the scene for you, I had left Brooklyn during the pandemic and hadn't been outside in several months. In the safety of my parents backyard I laid my head down and finally just let my mind wander - "what did I want to offer, what pieces of clothing do I see value in, what clothes do I wish I had in my closet that I think others would want in theirs?" And then I saw them...
To be honest I am an extremely visual person, like as if there is a little tv screen in my brain. So for me I literally saw those kind of ghost mannequin images of clothes bopping around my head. I wanted to offer a little something for most everyone in terms of style and function and suddenly there they were!
Since this is the first blog post I am going to keep it kind of short but please stay tuned for next time with more of How Did Rosin Studios start?
